Nicola Evangelisti


Bologna, 1972

He graduated in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna . He is also an author of treatises and theories about Light Art and Art and Science. Since 1995 he performs a search centered on scientific issues , mainly characterized by the use of artificial light . This theme, and the cosmology one, are constantly investigated through installations , light-boxes , photography and video . Since 2001, he identifies mirrored surfaces as the favourite medium for a number of cycles of sculptures and light installations in which he conveys its particular sign of light . He has won several awards including the International Prize Guglielmo Marconi and the International Prize Targetti Art Light . He has exhibited in international institutions such as the Chelsea Art Museum in New York , the Mak in Vienna , the MUAR in Moscow and the ISELP in Brussels.
