Riccardo Ricci

La Spezia, 1970

In 1997 he graduated with honors in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara. In these years he obtained a scholarship of six months that allowed him to stay in Athens and to attend the Higher School of Fine Arts of the Hellenic capital. Parallel to his studies, he began his experience of collaboration with ceramic and marble workshops, which led him to create sculptural works for major contemporary artists such as Maurizio Cattelan, Jan Fabre, Giuseppe Penone and many others. He exhibits in both collective and personal exhibitions, symposia and competitions both in Italy and abroad (Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Spain) receiving various awards. In 2011 the MEAM (Museu Europeu d'Arte Moderna) of Barcelona (Spain) acquired a marble work for its permanent collection.

He is a teacher of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia.

He lives and works in Carrara.
